Kristin Dean Muldowney graduates from Clemson

Kristin Dean Muldowney of Santa Rosa Beach graduated Cum Laude from Clemson University May 9, 2014, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Muldowney was among more than 3,200 students who received degrees from President James P. Clements, who presided over his first graduation ceremony at Clemson and who was inaugurated in three stages at the morning, afternoon and evening ceremonies.

Mary Clemmons named to dean's list

Mary Clemmons of Santa Rosa Beach, a member of the class of 2017 at Washington and Lee University, has earned dean's list status for the recently ended winter term 2014.

Dean's list status at Washington and Lee represents a term grade-average of at least 3.4 on a 4.0 scale.

Mary was recently inducted into Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, which is limited to students who complete the first term of their first year with superior academic records.

To be eligible for Phi Eta Sigma, a student must be in the top 20 percent of the class at the end of his or her first term. Eighty-one W&L students were initiated at a ceremony held the first night of W&L's 2014 Reunion Weekend in May.

Raw and Juicy Farmer's Market at the Market Shops

An extension of the Seaside Farmers Market in Seaside, the Raw & Juicy Farmers Market is now open and operates with many of the same local, organic and natural food producers at The Market Shops at the entrance of Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort from 8 a.m. to noon every Sunday.

South Walton Artist of the Year applications

The Walton County TDC is taking applications for 2015 South Walton Artist of the Year through 4 p.m. July 28. This will mark the 13th year of this community program showcasing a collection of local artists offering a wide range of media. Through this program, the TDC promotes the destination’s thriving arts community while placing the spotlight on one talented artist. The application can be downloaded at
