The Emerald Coast Chapter of the Deep South Dressage and Combined Training Association recently donated more than $1,200 to the Alaqua Animal Refuge. The donation was comprised of a $500 ECC donation plus matching donations from individual members.

ECC members were treated to a tour of the facility including an in-depth look at the various horses Alaqua has rescued recently.

"It was uplifting to see all these horses doing so well, after the neglect many had suffered," ECC Vice-President Jackie Hyde said.  "We hope our donation will assist in their continued rehabilitation."

ECC is a Group Membership Organization of the United States Dressage Federation, and is currently centered around the Fort Walton Beach area, with members ranging geographically from Navarre to Panama City.  The club puts on two dressage shows each year, an adult horse camp, clinics and other horse activities.  For more information, visit
