Record-breaking reading
Last week, students at TESLA in Seagrove Beach helped set a new world record for Read for the Record, a national literacy program designed to jump start students’ interest in reading. The more than 30 students at TESLA were hopeful that their participation Oct. 4 would help set a new record over 2011’s 2.2 million nationwide readers who sat down with the same book on the same day. This year, students at the academy and around the U.S. read “Ladybug Girl and the Bug Squad” by David Soman and Jacky Davis.
