Recently, South Walton High School held its 2012-2013 National Honor Society induction ceremony. The National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society are the nation's premier organizations established to recognize outstanding high school and middle level students, specifically those who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

These purposes also translate into the criteria, (along with a GPA of at least 3.5), used for membership selection in SWHS’s chapter.

Membership in NHS not only recognizes these students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.
