The 18th annual Summer Fun Kids Day presented by Synergy Bank will feature animals, entertainment, face painting and more at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center on Saturday.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Civic Center will play host to the largest indoor children's festival in southeast Louisiana with dozens of activities and vendors to keep children entertained. The festival is produced by the Civic Center Development Corp., a nonprofit organization, and the proceeds will be used to attract other events to come to Houma, such as Disney shows.
Admission is $5 for children 2 and older, and free for kids 1 and younger.
Scott Belanger, sales and marketing manager for the Civic Center, said typically over 3,000 people attend the six-hour event each year and he believes the event is mutually beneficial for the community.
"It's good for families because it's affordable entertainment for their kids, it's good for businesses because the event connects businesses with customers, and the sponsors help offset the cost to keep it $5 to get in," Belanger said. "Support of the community is huge for this event. It's the only reason we can make it so affordable."
There are going to be dozens of exhibitions and activities for the kids, so we made a list of five things to do at this year's Summer Fun Kids Day.
