Ogden Museum at WaterColor holds first art talks
If anyone has been to the Okaloosa Regional Airport recently, you have seen the large exhibit of Richard Sexton's photos of Florida landscapes. Sexton is a resident of Seaside. Richard will be leading a discussion about his work on July 31 at 5 p.m. at the new Ogden Museum at WaterColor, where his work is also on exhibit.
Artist Hunt Slonem will lead a discussion about his work at the museum tomorrow at 2 p.m. For more information, e-mail watercolor@ogdenmuseum.org.
The 30A Posse enjoyed another "Howl at the Moon" gathering on Grayton Beach the eve of the 17th. What a fun group of folks.
Wine World at Sandestin continues to enjoy a big crowd at its Friday evening wine tastings. John Morris, a certified specialist of wine, is quite knowledgeable as he leads the informative talks. This past Friday, the group got an extra treat in sampling a new wine from Argentina that was very nice.
At the First Friday Artwalk on Aug. 1 in Seaside's Ruskin Place, Dino Kotopoulis will unveil a sculpture he did that will be on permanent exhibit in front of Quincy's called "The Good Life." It was inspired by the creative life lived by the sea. Quincy owner Dorothy Baratta will serve free potato chips and chocolate (Dino's favorite) that night. Dino will soon start doing oil pastels in front of Quincy's.
Artist Jamie Babula recently opened a kiosk in the Village of South Walton where she features her original acrylic paintings.
Mandi Porterfield writes to say that Jambone in Emerald Coast Plaza on U.S. Highway 98 in Santa Rosa Beach has the most delicious barbecue she has ever tasted. I need to try it.

Happy 4th anniversary on Thursday to Meg Nelson and Ken Vogel. Ken celebrates a birthday on Friday. The couple has just returned from San Francisco and a combination business and pleasure trip. "It was glorious. We hiked in redwoods and ate fabulous food," said Meg.
