Americana Under The Stars — Bring a chair, a beverage and enjoy the music of Carly Bak at the series finale at 7 p.m. May 1 in the Recreation Hall at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach. Open mic is from 6-7 p.m. Free admission into park and a suggested donation of $5 goes to the Friends of Topsail Hill. Food available for purchase.

Saturday, April 26

Marvel of Flight: The City of DeFuniak Springs will host the fourth annual fly-in/aviation festival, Marvel of Flight, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the DeFuniak Springs Municipal Airport on Hwy. 90 West.

Paddle Battle: The inaugural Land Paddle/Sup Biathlon will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach. Enter the5K land paddle race, 6k land/sup paddle battle, and 5k team relay.  Register at 830-1893 or visit www.meyerboardingco.com. Entry fee is $15.

Junk to Jewels: Gulf Place’s Junk to Jewels Yard Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the town center of Gulf Place. Pandora’s Music: Pandora’s Steakhouse of Grayton Beach presents Fearless Heights, April 27; Lyon’s Limozine, April 29; Lee Yankie & the Hell Yeah, April 30; Haley & Alexis Band, May 1; Call The Law, May 2; and Nick and the Overalls, May 3. Music begins at 9 p.m., is free and open to all guests at least 21 years of age. 

Rock Destin/Club LA: Rehab performs at 7:30 p.m. at Rock Destin at Club La, 34876 Emerald Coast Parkway. All tickets are general admission and age 18 plus. Purchase tickets at rockdestin.com.

Beach Service: Worship at the beach with Hope Lutheran Church at 8 a.m. at Ed Walline Beach Access across from Gulf Place on Scenic Hwy. 30A in Santa Rosa Beach. Bring a towel, chair, or stand on the boardwalk. The service will be held at the church’s U.S. 98 campus during inclement weather and if the temperature is below 50 degrees. Call 267-0322.

 

Monday, April 28

Run 30A:  Run with a group along 30A in the Santa Rosa Beach area at 6 p.m. for distances from 3-6 miles. Run begins at Ed Walline beach access with socializing after at Pizza by the Sea Gulf Place.

Billy Garrett: Enjoy the music of Billy Garrett from 7-10 p.m. Monday evenings at Shorty’s Surfside & Topside, 63 Hotz Ave. in Grayton Beach.

Emerald Warrior: Air Force Special Operations Command will host Emerald Warrior April 28 through May 9 on ranges at Hurlburt Field, Eglin Air Force Base and Apalachicola. Residents may see an increase in military activity in their area to include a higher than usual number of military vehicles, aircraft noise during the nighttime hours and simulated munitions fire.

 

Tuesday, April 29

SeasideSchool: The Seaside School lottery for grades 5-10 will be held at 5 p.m. in the Lyceum meeting room.

Topsail tour: A surf fishing seminar will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach. Fishing gear is optional; the park can furnish. Park entry fee is $6 per vehicle. Call 267-8330.

Peddlers Pavilion:The 30A Summer Concert Series at Peddlers Pavilion, 10343 E. County Hwy. 30A in Seacrest Beach, presents Austin Jennings from 5-9 p.m. April 29 and Tom Devoursney April 30. Beer and wine available through Peddlers Pub, and admission is free. 

Arts and Carafes Night: Art event will have multiple artists on display as well as featured wines and wine specials from 5-7 p.m. at Messina’s, 7 Town Center Loop in Santa Rosa Beach.

Wednesday Night Concert Series: A free concert features The Last Waltz Ensemble, a Band Tribute, from 7-9 p.m. in the Events Plaza at The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Call 267-8186.

Cajun Crawfish Bash: The Rotary Club of Destin will present a “Cajun Crawfish Bash” at 5:30 p.m. at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village in Destin to benefit Food For Thought, Harvest House and the Boys & Girls Club of the Emerald Coast. Garden Mart: The Destin Garden Club will have a Plant Sale & Garden Mart from 8 a.m. to noon on the grounds of the Destin Library, 150 Siebert Ave. Master Gardeners from Okaloosa and Walton Counties will be available to answer questions. All proceeds go to the landscaping and education funds at the Library. 

Jazz on the Lawn: Listen to an eclectic group of jazz artists at 5 p.m. at the Seaside Amphitheater. Event is free and open to the public.

Job Fair: The holiday town of Seaside will host a job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Seaside Assembly Hall across the lawn from Seaside Neighborhood School on Smolian Circle. Employers will be on hand with a list of job openings for part-time, full-time and seasonal positions in the areas of hospitality, retail, recreation, swim and tennis, restaurant, maintenance and others.

Yard sale: The Women’s Group of Community Church of Santa Rosa Beach will host a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the church parking lot, 3524 US Hwy. 98 West. All proceeds will benefit mission efforts.

Biophilia in Bloom: E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center in Freeport will host a public event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with arts and crafts, gardening activities, cooking demos, beekeeping, gardening tips, a butterfly walk and more. Admission is $8/adults, $5/children and free for children two and under. Call 835-1842.

St. Agatha’s Breakfast: Breakfast Cooked to Order will be held from 7-11 a.m. in the Parish Hall at St. Agatha’s Episcopal Church, 150 Circle Drive in DeFuniak Springs. Cost is $5.50/adults and $2.50/children under 10. Proceeds benefit the church and its food ministry. The historic church will be open for tours.

Cinco de Mayo: Cantina Laredo Food presents its sixth annual celebration from 5-11 p.m. May 3 at Grand Park in Grand Boulevard. Enjoy live music, food, drinks, door prizes and displays by various Grand Boulevard stores. Event is free.

Music concert: The last free concert forAmericana Music at the Lodge features Carly Bak from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Lodge at Camp Helen State Park, 23937 P C Beach Parkway in Panama City Beach. Donations to the Friends of Camp Helen are requested for admission and refreshments. Call 233-5059.

Gospel music: Several group and individuals will provide inspirational music from 2-6 p.m. in the amphitheater in the Lakeyard in DeFuniak Springs. Admission is free and food vendors available.

Peddlers Alley: Crafts, custom items, homemade products, plants and more will be available from 8 a.m. to noon 3 in the alleyways between Baldwin and Nelson Avenues in DeFuniak Springs. A historic walking tour will be held from 12-2 p.m. Call 892-6066.
