WCSO takes back unwanted prescription drugs

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public another opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the WCSO South Walton Substation, 133 Sheriff Dr. in Santa Rosa Beach, or the WCSO Administration Office, 752 Triple G Road in DeFuniak Springs. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

SouthernFare Farmer & Fishermen Dinner

A special chefs dinner showcasing local fish and local organic farmer Robert Wheeler’s fresh vegetables will be held at 7 p.m. at Fish Out of Water, 34 Golden Rod Circle at WaterColor Resort. Cost is $55/person and a YOLO Board will be raffled. Tickets are $25 each and proceeds will benefit Wheeler, who faces very large medical bills after his wife recently lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. Seating is limited. Call 534-5050.
