Food donations
Shelter House is collecting donations of unopened, canned and non-perishable food items that summer tourists may have left over after their stay on the Emerald Coast. Food donations will be used to feed the women and children who stay in the emergency shelter. Donations may be dropped off at 102 Buck Drive in Fort Walton Beach or 78 Lynn Drive in Santa Rosa Beach.

Torchlight Film Series
The Torchlight Film Series begins at 7:30 p.m. at the WaterColor Boathouse with a reception and screening of The Myth of the American Sleepover. Writer-director David Robert Mitchell and other members of the production will attend. Admission is free.

Van R. Butler student orientation
Van R. Butler Elementary School will host student orientations for the 2010-2011 school year. Kindergarten students and their parents are invited to attend “Sneak-Peek” for a chance to meet their teachers and become familiar with the school. Sneak Peak will last from 9 to 11:15 a.m. and is only for kindergarten age students. Teachers for other grade levels will not be available during this time.
Students in grades 1-5 can stop by the school on the same day between 1:30 and 3 p.m. to meet their teachers. Class rosters for all grades will be posted just prior to orientation.
Students planning to attend Butler for the first time are encouraged to register for school as soon as possible to insure appropriate plans are made for our student enrollment. The school office is open during the summer from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Music in Grand Park
