Friday, June 6

Topsail tour: Learn about an exotic mammal, the coyote, from 2-3 p.m. at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach. Park entry fee is $6 per vehicle. Call 267-8330.

First Friday ArtWalk: Enjoy live music and works of art and artist demonstrations from 5-8 p.m. at the galleries and shops of Ruskin Place and Central Square on Scenic Hwy. 30A in Seaside.

Grayton Beer Concert: Grayton Beer and Peddlers Pavilion in Seacrest Beach present a 30A Summer Concert Series with Joe and Jay from 6-10 p.m. Beer and wine available through Peddlers Pub, and admission is free.

Central Square Cinema: Grab your blankets for a free movie, “Despicable Me 2,” at 8 p.m. under the stars at the Seaside Amphitheater.

Rosalina: Rosalina plays classic standards and show tunes on keyboard from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Fridays at Christiano’s Ristorante in Santa Rosa Beach.  Reservations recommended at 267-2185.

 

Saturday, June 7

First Saturday at Biophilia: Go Wild from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Biophilia Center with safari hikes, walk on the wild side art, and Nonie’s Ark of Animals. Special guest, Wildlife series TV legend of Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, Jim Fowler will present shows at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to speak about past adventures and present wild animal ambassadors.

Yoga fundraiser: Destin Hot Yoga in Miramar Beach will host a fundraising event for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Included are yoga classes, a healthy lunch, juice bar and a yoga workshop. For more information and to register, visit www.stjudeyoga.org.

Artist Bazaar: The Artist Bazaar will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Artists at Gulf Place Green in the center of the Gulf Place loop. Bazaar features local artists, craftspeople and artisan vendors, interactive activities for children, and a free hot dog for those who make a purchase.

 

Sunday, June 8

Party with a Purpose: The Cowgirl Kitchen Porch Party features the music of Fearless Heights from 5:30-9 p.m. at 54 Main Street in Rosemary Beach. A portion of the proceeds honors a courageous woman of the 30A community, Sheila Goode, cancer survivor.

Summer Sunday Concerts: Gulf Place on 30A will host a free concert with Flow Tribe from 6-9 p.m. on the Amphitheater lawn. Bring chairs and blankets.

Sunday Cinema: A free movie, “Ratatouille,” begins at 8 p.m. in the Events Plaza at the Village of Baytowne Wharf.

Groovin’ On The Green: Enjoy the music of Ebb Tyed from 7-9 p.m. at the Village Green at Carillon Beach, 100 Carillon Market St. in Panama City Beach.

Monday Sky Surfing: Enjoy three shows from fly-board extraordinaire Ben Merrell from 7-9 p.m. over the Lagoon at the Village of Baytowne Wharf.

Billy Garrett: Enjoy the music of Billy Garrett from 7-10 p.m. Monday evenings at Shorty’s Surfside & Topside, 63 Hotz Ave. in Grayton Beach.

 

Tuesday, June 10

Cinema Under The Stars: Bring a blanket or low back chair to enjoy the movie “Homeward Bound” under the stars from 8-10 p.m. in the Alys Beach Amphitheatre on Somerset Street.

County Commissioners: The Walton County Board of County Commissioners will hold a special meeting to discuss the Parking Needs Assessment in south Walton County at 3 p.m. at the South Walton County Courthouse Annex, 31 Coastal Centre Blvd. in Santa Rosa Beach.

Job Fair: St. Joe Club & Resorts will hold a job fair for culinary of all experience levels for The Pearl, The Beach Club at WaterSound and WaterColor Inn & Resort from 1-6 p.m. at 180 North WaterSound Parkway. Follow the signs from U.S. 98.

Artisan breads: Learn how to make artisan breads with just five minutes of “active effort” a day and an easy way to make half your grains whole from 2-4 p.m. at the UF/IFAS Extension Walton County DeFuniak Springs office. Cost is $10, materials included. Pre-registration required at 892-8172.

 

Wednesday, June 11

Summer Concert Series: Bring blankets and low back chairs to enjoy music with Daphne Willis from 7-9 p.m. in the Alys Beach Amphitheatre.

Wednesday Night Concert Series: A free concert with Adam Doleac Band from 7-9 p.m. in the Events Plaza at The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Call 267-8186.

Movies and more: A recycling program will be followed by the movie, ““Wall-E,” at 5:30 p.m. in the Recreation Hall at Camp Helen State Park. A parent or guardian must accompany children. Admission into the park is free, although donations are requested for the Friends of Camp Helen State Park. Call 233-5059.

Informational meetings: The Walton County Department of Emergency will hold a series of public informational events to assist the public in preparing for potential hazardous from 10 a.m. to noon at Publix in WaterColor and June 18 at Walmart in Santa Rosa Beach.

TDC: The Walton County TDC’s Destination Improvement Committee will meet from 2-3:30 p.m. at the S.W. Courthouse Annex Boardroom.

 

Thursday, June 12

CDLAB: The Walton County Coastal Dune Lakes Advisory Board will hold a Special Workshop at 9 a.m. at the District Five Commissioner’s Meeting Room, 70 Logan Lane in Santa Rosa Beach to work on the 2014 CDLAB goals.

Concerts in the Village: MKAF presents LavaLamp, The best of the 70’s disco, soul & funk, at 7 p.m. at the Dugas Pavilion at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village in Destin. Bring a picnic and wine or beverage of choice, or purchase meal from local restaurant prepared on-site. Admission is $10/adult and children under 12 and MKAF members are free. Call 650-2226.

Toss It Up: Learn how to make salad no matter your kitchen skill at the Toss It Up – Summer Salads program from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at 732 N. 9th St. in DeFuniak Springs. WCEDA: The Walton County Economic Development Alliance will meet at noon in the Walton County Administration Conference Room, 76 North 6th Street in DeFuniak Springs.

Americana Under The Stars: Bring a chair, a beverage and enjoy the music of Lucky Mud at 6 p.m. in the amphitheater at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach. Open mic begins the evening. Free admission into park and a suggested donation of $5 goes to the Friends of Topsail Hill. Food available for purchase.

Beach Blast: Elephant Walk restaurant in Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort will have a free evening of entertainment on the beach at 6 p.m. Activities include beach bonfires, live music by Bo Adams, children’s activities, bounce houses, face painting, balloon sculpting, a photo lounge, s’mores, and a fireworks show. Friday, June 13

Topsail tour: Take a nature hike in the preserve and see wildflowers, birds, chicks and scenery from 10-11 a.m. at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach. Park entry fee is $6 per vehicle. Call 267-8330. Please no open toed shoes; sunscreen is a must as is water. 

Walk Her Way: Men, women and children of all ages are invited to don high heels for Walk Her Way from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Rosemary Beach’s Town Center. The one-mile strut aims to raise awareness of domestic violence with a portion of proceeds benefiting Shelter House.

Backyard Boogie: Williams Backyard Boogie features Reed Waddle and Bryan Kennedy from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at 1921 Chat Holley Road in Santa Rosa Beach. Bring a chair.
