Walton County Commissioners recently visited Tallahassee to meet with legislators. Commissioners pushed to get more funding so that U.S. Hwy 331 can get widened. 331 has been known as a narrow road to drive on. Lots of deer frequent the roadside making it a dangerous road to drive on during the hours of the night.

Along with the turning lanes the medians will also be getting milling, resurfacing, new sidewalks, marked crosswalks and wheelchair ramps at signalized intersections. The project is to be completed in 506 days and cost $12.7 million.

Boating along the Emerald Coast is very popular! Many boating accidents can be prevented with knowing marine forecasts.
