Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats present Cirque D'or

By popular demand, the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation is bringing back the Golden Dragon Acrobats from China to present Cirque D’Or on Sept. 3, at 7 p.m., at the Emerald Coast Conference Center in Fort Walton Beach.
Advance reserved seating is $30 for adults and $15 for ages 16 and younger. Tickets are available online at www.mattiekellyartsfoundation.org.
The world-famous Golden Dragon Acrobats represent the best of one of China’s most honored traditions, mixing champion acrobats, contortionists, jugglers, traditional dance, spectacular costumes, and ancient and contemporary theatrical techniques. Founded in Cangzhou, Hebei province of China, the company is in its 30th continuous year of touring the United States.
The troupe is led by Danny Chang, one of the world’s leading impresarios for Chinese acrobatics with a reputation based on talents as both acrobatic and artistic director. Chang’s wife and business partner, Angela Chang, has served over 20 years as the company’s choreographer and costume designer.
This award-winning team has been honored for their Broadway run with two prestigious New York Drama Desk Nominations - Danny Chang for Unique Theatrical Experience and Angela Chang for Outstanding Choreography. Honored by the Taipei Trade Union of Acrobatic Dance, Danny has twice received the Distinguished Skill in Performance Awards from the Republic of China’s Ministry of Education and the Medal for International Faith and Goodwill by the Republic of China’s Coordination Council for North American Affairs.
The group has toured the world, garnering international acclaim, with performances in venues such as the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Germany’s Elspe Festival, the New Victory Theater on Broadway and at Caesar’s Palace in Atlantic City.
