Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation announced that Caymus Vineyards has committed to participate in the 2013 Wine Auction. This is the first year that Caymus has participated in the event. In 2012, Caymus Vineyards celebrated its 40th anniversary as a pre-eminent winemaker, farming approximately 350 acres in Napa Valley, Calif. Caymus is a member of the Wagner Family of Wine, comprised of the notable brands of Meiomi, Conundrum, Belle Glos and Mer Soleil.

Caymus Vineyards is privately owned by the Wagner family. They produced their first vintage in 1972, and since then, Caymus has focused their efforts on the production of quality Cabernet Sauvignon wines.

“We are delighted to be able to support the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation this year, “said Chuck Wagner, founder and owner of Caymus Vineyards. “In making this commitment, we are joining an impressive team of vintners from around the world to showcase our wines and support the children’s charities of Northwest Florida. The Destin Wine Auction has swiftly grown to be one of the most celebrated charity wine auctions in the nation, and we look forward to participating in this impressive venue in 2013.”

“To add the name ‘Caymus’ to our list of participating vintners is a significant distinction for us,” said John Russell, president, Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation. “Caymus is a distinguished and impressive name in the international wine industry. Their participation in our 2013 event helps us to continue to build our recognition and importance, and provides us with a larger platform for sustained growth and profitability. That, in turn, allows us to better fulfill our overriding mission to support the children of Northwest Florida. With the support of Caymus Vineyards, as well as our other participating vintners, we look forward to achieving our 2013 goal of double digit annual income growth.”

In addition to Caymus Vineyards, other vineyards which have committed to 2013 participation include Pride Mountain Vineyards, Paul Hobbs Winery, Merry Edwards Winery, Dunn Vineyards, Jarvis Estate Winery, Robert Craig Winery, Spring Mountain Vineyard, Palazzo Wine, Joseph Phelps Vineyards, Schweiger Vineyards and Betz Family Winery.

Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation’s mission is to connect wine enthusiasts to raise money for children in need. Founded in 2006, DCWAF has donated more than $4.7 million to Northwest Florida charities through hosting world class wine and culinary events.
