Book Sale and BBQ

The Friends of the Walton/DeFuniak Springs Library will hold a book sale from 8:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 17 at the Walton County Fairgrounds. Pack as many books as possible into a plastic grocery bag for $2. Bags will be provided.

To donate, books may be brought to the Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 16. Proceeds from the book sale will be used to provide new books and other materials not currently covered by the library budget. Call 859-0215.

Here Comes Santa Claus

Bring in the holidays Nov. 23 and 24 at Baytowne Wharf. The Here Comes Santa Claus Weekend includes the annual Village tree lighting, a holiday movie, and, a visit from Santa Claus.

• Nov. 23: A family movie, “Arthur Christmas,” under the stars at 7 p.m.
• Nov. 24: Welcome Santa as he lights the Village Christmas Tree at 6 p.m. followed by the choreographed light show, 12 Nights of Lights, and fireworks over the lagoon.

Topsail tour

Learn the full history of Florida’s most famous reptile, the alligator, at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 24 at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach. All programs require a $6 per car entry admission. Call 267-8330.
