Emerald Coast Duck Regatta
Adopt a rubber duck and join in a day of family fun at the Second Annual Emerald Coast Duck Regatta hosted by the Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast Guild at 11 a.m. Oct. 6. Duck Regatta begins at 1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the owners of the first ducks to cross the finish line. The event will have fun activities for the whole family, including face painters, crafts, scavenger hunts, and a chance to win the $50,000 Golden Duck Prize. Admission is free.

Jim DelMauro Rosemary Run (5K)
Join the race to find a cure for Parkinson's disease by running in or sponsoring the 2012 Jim Del Mauro Rosemary Run. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 6 on the East Lawn Green. Early registration is $35/adults and $20/students and $45/adults and $25/students on day of race. Visit www.jdmrosemaryrun.org.

Biophilia Center
Hike one of the several trails the Center has to offer Oct. 6 on a guided hike, which includes wildlife and habitat identification. The hike will introduce visitors to the native flora and fauna of the Longleaf Pine Ecosystem. Comfortable footgear, drinking water and insect repellant is recommended. Call 835-1824.

Book Lover’s Club
The Coastal Library Book Lover’s Club will be held from 10-11 a.m. Oct. 9 in the community room of the Coastal Branch Library, 437 Greenway Trail in Santa Rosa Beach. The Seagrove Garden Club will meet at 10 a.m. Oct. 10 at Bayou Biill’s on U.S. 98. The program, ”On Golden Ponds,” will be presented by Pete Wilson. The cost will vary from $18 to $23 depending on the venue. Guests will be an additional $5. Reservations are required at 267-9586.

Meet at 7 a.m. at Uptown Station in Fort Walton and then at 7:50 a.m. at the Waffle House at the Hwy. 87 Exit from I-10 near Milton. Be prepared for a walk in the woods: water, sunscreen, long pants and sleeves, hat, and insect repellent.
