UPDATE: Santa Rosa Beach shooting victim ID'd; no foul play suspected
SANTA ROSA BEACH - The Walton County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man found dead Friday at 72 Blue Bell Circle.
Robert Storm, 60, apparently died from a gunshot wound, although an autopsy is has not been completed, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Camile Cox.
Deputies were called to the home in Santa Rosa Beach at 2:35 p.m. Friday.
Cox said lawmen were investigating the death because another person was inside the home at the time. A woman there called 911 shortly after Storm died.
There is no evidence of foul play, Cox said. The Sheriff’s Office is handling the incident as a death investigation, not a criminal investigation.
“Any time there’s a death like this, an investigation takes place,” Cox said. “It becomes a crime scene.”
The Sheriff’s Office expects the autopsy to be completed Monday and plans to release more details after a report is submitted, she said.
