Historic Baldwin Avenue will be the site of the third semiannual Downtown Arts Night on April 7. More than 50 artists, artisans, craftsmen and food vendors will line the streets of historic downtown DeFuniak Springs from 5-9 p.m. Baldwin Avenue, from 6th to 8th Streets, will be the scene for friends and guests to shop, eat and enjoy a night of art, music and fun for the whole family. Downtown businesses will keep their lights on for you to peruse their stores and light up the evening events.

Regional artists, wood workers, jewelers, authors, quilters, basket weavers and many other hand-selected crafters from DeFuniak Springs, Destin, Crestview and the surrounding area will line the streets to show off their talents and wares.

From one end of Baldwin to the other, music will be in the air everywhere you walk. A musician back by popular demand is the entertaining and talented Bruce Naylor playing smooth vibes on his jazz and blues guitar in front of Naylor Realty. Cassidy Freiburger and Bella Pryor, two high school girls with talent beyond their ages, will sing and play pop and modern tunes.

New for this event is the 7th Street Stage that will feature guest musician Shane D’Fury, a well-known performer and singer from South Walton who knows how to get you on your feet with contemporary and popular tunes.

There will be homemade food by vendors serving up a variety of local and ethnic delights. Also new for Downtown Arts Night, thanks to the support of the city of DeFuniak Springs, will be tables and chairs along Baldwin Avenue and in front of the 7th Street Stage so you can sit, relax and enjoy the food and music and chat with friends.

Bogey’s Restaurant and That Pizza Place will be open during Arts Night as well.

Downtown Arts Night is sponsored by Nook and Cranny, The Art Nook and The DeFuniak Springs Art Co-op.
