MIRAMAR BEACH — Crews from the South Walton Fire District responded early Tuesday to a fire at an occupied rental home at 915 Scenic Gulf Drive.
According to a press release from the fire district, firefighters received the call about 3 a.m. Within minutes of arriving, firefighters faced heavy smoke and flames coming from the first floor of the multi-story home.
Crews contained the fire to the first floor and prevented it from spreading to adjacent homes. No one was injured in the blaze, and all 15 occupants were accounted for, authorities said.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Damage to the house was estimated to be $150,000 to $200,000.
