When former Walton County Artist of the Year Juan Francisco Adaro lived in his native Argentina, his city held an art market event every Saturday morning. This art market is where he met his future bride, Brooke Gontarek.

Adaro and Gontarek married and moved back to Gontarek's Gulf Coast, always talking about starting an art market in this area.

Adaro moved his gallery into new space at The Hub on 30A and opened March 1.

As they always talked about, the couple got permission from The Hub owners and started an art market the first of June.

Any artist can apply. The only rules are show up with a chair, paints and brushes and paint live.

"This is a way to support local artists and give everyone an outlet," said Gontarek.

All artwork will be for sale.

Right now, the only day the 30A Art Market is live is Wednesdays from 5-8 p.m.

The number of artists wanting to take part is increasing each week, said Gontarek. The space can accommodate 30.
