While being sought by authorities following the murders, Kevin Dion Lever committed suicide in Escambia County.

A man considered to be a suspect in a triple homicide in Alabama on Wednesday morning is dead.

Kevin Dion Lever, 52, killed himself in Escambia County, according to the most recent update from the Gardendale Police Department. Gardendale is a suburb of Birmingham.

Authorities had put the public on alert Wednesday afternoon that Lever, who is from Pace, was thought to be heading toward the Florida Panhandle. He was the primary suspect in the three Gardendale murders.

According to multiple media reports overnight, police have identified the three victims in the shooting that occurred at the Peachtree Crossings trailer park in Gardendale, located just north of Birmingham.

Identified as the victims by authorities are the gunman's wife, Dana Reeves Lever, 50, of Gardendale, Bonnie Reeves Foshee, 65, of Fultondale, and Don Austin Foshee, 69, also of Fultondale.

Lever was considered armed and dangerous.
