Georgia man on Harley killed when big rig truck exits onto roadway from business.

A Georgia man was killed Thursday when a big rig truck pulled in front of his motorcycle on U.S. 231.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release, 49-year-old Richard Arlen Sanford Jr. of Douglasville, Georgia, was operating a 2013 Harley-Davidson Road Glide southbound on U.S. 231 in Bay County at the time of the 1:10 p.m. fatal collision.

Exiting a Dollar General Store driveway just north of Pipe Line Road, Anthony Quinn Atkinson, 35, of Panama City, pulled in front of the Harley in a 2007 Volvo big rig truck. Sanford collided with the left side of the truck and was ejected from the motorcycle.

Sanford, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

FHP noted that alcohol test results are pending for both Sanford and Atkinson. Charges are also pending investigation.
