DESTIN — An 18-year-old college student faces felony sexual battery charges after admitting he lost control and forced a 16-year-old girl to have sex with him.

The incident happened while the two were showering together, according to Denton Roy Boroughs' Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

The victim had told Boroughs, who lives in Miramar Beach, that she didn't feel comfortable having intercourse, but she agreed to other sexual acts that did not involve penetration, the report said.

After he forced himself on her, she left and drove away, parking just down the road to text Boroughs, the report indicated.

In the exchange, she told him to never talk to her again and reiterated that she had told him she didn't want to have sex.

"I know and I'm so sorry," he texted, according to his arrest report. "I was in the moment and lost control."

When deputies talked to Boroughs, he admitted that the victim had told him they were not having intercourse, that he penetrated her, that he could not control himself and that he knew she was only 16.

The sexual battery charge, which is a second degree felony, specifies that physical force was not used.
