Phi Theta Kappa welcomes new members
The Northwest Florida State College Sigma Mu Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society recently inducted 67 new members. Local students inducted included Sydni Earley and Matthew Norman of DeFuniak Springs; Vivian Nguyen of Miramar Beach; Brandi Caughorn, Eleanor Ewing, Emma Hanley of Santa Rosa Beach; and Lilly Conley of Seacrest.
The University of Alabama awarded approximately 1,300 degrees during summer commencement Aug. 5. Megan Raybon Carte of Miramar Beach received a bachelor of science degree in human environment science.
New students at Belmont University
Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, kicked off the fall 2017 semester with a record-breaking enrollment number for the 17th consecutive year as they welcomed 8,080 students to the first day of classes.
Chapman expands patient service area
Dr. Brent Chapman will now expand his service area to include Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast in Miramar Beach.
He will see patients at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast’s Medical Office Building, 7720 Hwy. 98 West Suite 110 in Miramar Beach, and Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf’s Medical Office Building, 3871 East Highway 98 Suite 201 in Port St. Joe.
