LAUREL HILL – A man who head-butted the mother of his child during an argument about their child being sick was charged with domestic battery by strangulation and domestic battery causing great bodily harm.
After head-butting her, the 25-year-old man allegedly slapped her in the face and slammed her against the bedroom wall.
He then put his hands around her throat, restricting her breathing, according to his Walton County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
Nearly 24 hours later, she was still having trouble swallowing and had visible bruising, the deputy noted.
She left the house and came back the next day, where the argument resumed. This time, the suspect pushed her. When he tried to leave, she took away his keys, the report said.
The suspect’s stepmother told deputies she’d heard both altercations but did not see them.
She did hear the woman yelling, “Stop, stop, stop!”
