DEFUNIAK SPRINGS — A 42-year-old man who thought he was inviting a 14-year-old girl over for a quickie was arrested and faces multiple felony charges

William Scott Melcher was arrested Oct. 26 and charged with using a computer to lure a child, using a two-way communication device to commit a felony, traveling to meet a child lured using a computer and displaying a weapon while committing a felony.

According to his Walton County Sheriff's Office arrest report, Melcher had a conversation with a person who identified herself as a 14-year-old child.

During the conversation, he discussed having "doggy-style" sex with the child. He also asked her if she would "want to come over for a quickie," the report said.

"LOL," he said. We have a (sic) hour or so!"

Melcher continued the conversation into the next day, while maintaining its sexual nature.

When he went to the pre-arranged meeting place, he encountered a law enforcement officer and was arrested.
