1. Firetruck Pull

Gulf Place will host the first 30A Firetruck Pull at 4 p.m. Nov. 4. Teams will be made up of 10 people with each team member paying $10 to participate. Teams will pull a firetruck a total of 20 feet and the team with the fastest pull time wins. All proceeds from the event will benefit The Miami Project which conducts research on spinal cords to end paralysis. Visit www.facebook.com/30afiretruckpull for more information.

2. Light the Night

The Tree House Episcopal Montessori School will “Light the Night” with a Beachside Bonfire Bash Shrimp Boil from 4-6 p.m. Nov. 5 at Ed Walline Beach Access, Gulf Place. Proceeds benefit the school's Teacher Continuing Education Fund. Also, Huck and Lilly provide music, glow-in-the-dark toys and for kids, a raffle and more. 3. Flutterby Festival

The 25th Flutterby Festival celebrates the migration of the monarch butterfly through this area with free art activities, live music, theatre and dance performances, art exhibits, and a butterfly parade from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 11 and 12 in Watersound Origins, 573 Pathways Drive, Suite 102, in Watersound.
