Holiday Open House
The 15th annual Holiday Open House will be Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Gulf Place. Enjoy arts & crafts, music, and refreshments, each artist will have different holiday presents available to make which will range in price from $12 to $30. There will be live music by Sammy Jackson beginning at 1 p.m. Santa Claus will drop by via firetruck from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with photos for $5 each.
Every Christmas Story
The Seaside REP’s “Every Christmas Story Ever Told” will have free performances at 10 a.m. Nov. 25 at the Amphitheater at Alys Beach and at 2 p.m. Nov. 25 at the Seaside Post Office during Turn on the Town festivities.
Photos with Santa
Santa visits Grand Park in Grand Boulevard from 2-3 p.m. Saturdays, Nov. 25 though Dec. 16, at the Festival of Trees display. Free photos. Abrakadoodle will offer free holiday arts and crafts for kids of all ages.
Breakfast with Santa
Spend a magical morning in Santa’s Workshop from 8-10 a.m. Nov. 25 at Town Hall in Rosemary Beach. Tickets are $20/child and complimentary for adults and include boxed breakfast, photo and goodie bag. Purchase at door; cash only. Proceeds go to Angel Tree Program of Walton County.
Rosemary Beach Holiday Market
The annual Rosemary Beach Holiday Market takes place throughout the center of town from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 25. Vendors will be on hand with a variety of fine art, handcrafted furniture and jewelry, yard art, wood and metal sculpture, pottery, stained glass, holiday gifts, and Christmas home decor.
Here Comes Santa Claus
Get in the winter spirit when Santa Claus comes to the Village of Baytowne Wharf from 6-9 p.m. Nov 25. Kids will enjoy face-painting, crafts, and a fireworks display at 8 p.m.
Wreaths for Alaqua
The Fourth Annual Wreaths for Alaqua will be held at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 29 at Old Florida Fish House in Seagrove Beach. All proceeds will benefit the no-kill facility in Freeport. Auctioneer Helen “Redd” Vizard will present 20 wreaths created by local artists, businesses, and individuals during the auction. The wreaths, some of which will be packaged with bonus items and gift certificates, will each go to the highest bidder during this holiday fundraiser for Alaqua.
Santa Patrol and Community Christmas
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is now asking for donations for the 2017 Gift Drive for Santa Patrol and Community Christmas. These are for children of all ages, including teens. Gift drive is for gift cards and unwrapped toys. Drop off locations are at north and south end offices as well as Walton County Fire Rescue stations. The goal this year is to provide for more than 500 children in need in Walton County. Email AFoushee@waltonso.org for more information.
South Walton Fire District is partnering with Caring and Sharing of North Walton and South Walton to put on its annual Angel Tree Program. Those who want to give can pick up one or multiple children’s names with a wish list attached Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the South Walton Fire District headquarters off County Road 393. Gifts are due back to the station by Dec. 8 to allow enough time for the presents to be delivered.
Coastal White Christmas
The Town Center in Grand Boulevard will have thousands of white lights through Jan. 1. Every Friday and Saturday night in December enjoy a free, horse-drawn carriage ride around the Town Center while faux snow falls on the Festival of Trees display in Grand Park from 5-8 p.m. Emerald Coast Theatre Company’s Dickens Carolers will sing holiday carols from 5-7 p.m.
The spirit of the holidays will come alive at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast during the annual Holiday Sale in the Gift Shop. The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through Dec. 20. All proceeds support new and expanded healthcare services for our community. Café Thirty-A will present its annual Charity Christmas Soiree from 7-11 p.m. Dec. 1 with a buffet and passed heavy hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, music by DJ 30A, a silent auction and a raffle. Dress is evening attire with black tie optional. Proceeds will benefit Caring and Sharing of South Walton. Sounds of the Season
The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation and co-presenters, Destin Assembly of God, Destin United Methodist Church, St. Peter Catholic Church and Village Baptist Church will present the 22nd Annual Sounds of the Season at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 at Village Baptist Church, 101 Matthew Blvd. in Destin. Admission is a new unwrapped child’s toy to be distributed among the participating church’s outreach ministries. A love offering at intermission will benefit the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation’s community outreach initiatives. Guest artist Sarah Simmons Langston will not appear due to medical emergency. Sacred and classic Christmas music from the Mattie Kelly Chorus, solos and ensembles from the four churches — Destin Assembly of God, Destin United Methodist Church, St. Peter Catholic Church and Village Baptist Church — will be heard.
Parade of Elves & Toy Drive
Bring the kids, dressed in their best-looking holiday elf costumes, to participate in a Parade of Elves at the new Seascape Town Centre in Miramar Beach from 2-5 p.m. Dec. 2. Activities include face painting, food and drink specials and live entertainment by Chasin’ Jaymie. Kids can visit Santa and compete for best dressed Elf. Admission is $5 to enter the elf costume contest or bring a new toy donation. Proceeds and toys will benefit the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center (ECCAC).
Festival of Trees
The Freeport Town Planter’s Festival of Trees will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 2 and 1-5 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Freeport Community Center. Closed during Parade Saturday and re-open after tree lighting. The trees have been decorated by individuals, organizations, and businesses and they will be competing for the People’s Choice Award. Admission is free, with monetary donations accepted. Bring a non-perishable canned food item for an extra vote. The food items will be donated to the First Baptist Church Food Pantry. Milk and Cookies with Santa
Santa Claus is comin’ to town! Children and their families can experience the joy and magic of the holiday season with Silver Sands Premium Outlets’ Milk and Cookies with Santa from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 2. Santa will arrive on a fire truck, then enjoy face painting, cookie decorating and a special surprise treat from Santa. The first 25 families will receive special festive goody bags.
GRAYT Holiday Market
Grayton Beer Company will host its Second Annual GRAYT Holiday Market from 12-6 p.m. Dec. 2 at 217 Serenoa Road in Santa Rosa Beach. In addition to vendors, the event will include festive craft beers, live music, an appearance by Santa and food for purchase. The Market will be held in tandem with the regularly scheduled Dog Days Are (R)over where patrons who bring in their dog receive 10 percnt off their tab.
Dock of the The Bay: Give Santa Claus a big welcome from 5:30-8 p.m. Dec. 5 at The Bay in Santa Rosa Beach. Sit on Santa’s lap and get a photo. The dock will have holiday lighting and there will be a few surprises. Watch the moon rise in the Winter Wonderland (snow and all) on the beach.
Wednesday Night Concerts — Holiday Edition
Get in the holiday spirit and listen to favorite holiday classics free at 6 p.m. Wednesdays Dec. 6, 13 and 20 in the Events Plaza in Baytowne Wharf. Each concert will feature a choreographed light show and visits with Santa.
Christmas Charities Auction
The Seagrove Garden Club hosts the auction ata 10 a.m. Dec. 6 at the Sandestin Bayside Ballroom. All proceeds go to families in Walton County and surrounding counties and will benefit their direct needs for the holidays. Cost is $28 and includes a traditional Christmas meal. 12 Nights of Lights
