FREEPORT — A 52-year-old man was arrested after beating up a man who was having a fight with his girlfriend in a parking lot.

According to a Walton County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, on Nov. 26 a man and his girlfriend were in an argument in a parking lot when they were approached by the suspect. The suspect told the man to stop, at which point the man told him to “mind his (expletive) business.” The suspect then “ran towards the victim and … punched him several times in the face.”

The victim said he could not defend himself because he was drunk. He suffered a bleeding laceration on his forehead.

The suspect was arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge.
