DEFUNIAK SPRINGS — A 32-year-old man was arrested after he walked into a dollar store and exclaimed he had seen “video of children being murdered on a computer” and demanded to know where he could find a machete.

According to a Walton County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, on Dec. 12 witnesses at the dollar store said the man entered the store and said he wanted to kill people, asking employees “where he could get a gun or machete.” He also said he “saw a video of children being murdered on a computer” and further reiterated he wanted to kill people.

Employees repeatedly asked him to leave, according to the report, but the man refused.

Store employees then called WCSO, and a deputy arrived and detained the man. While checking his person for weapons, the deputy found a black container with a crystal substance inside that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

The man was charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and taken to the Walton County Jail.
