SANTA ROSA BEACH — A man with a Mexican driver’s license was arrested after a deputy pulled him over for texting and driving and learned he still had no valid U.S. driver’s license.

Prior to the traffic stop on Dec. 14, the deputy pulled the same man over on Dec. 12 and gave him a “verbal warning” when he presented him with a Mexican driver’s license, according to a Walton County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. The deputy gave the man the opportunity to correct his mistake and allow him to obtain a U.S. driver’s license.

However, two days later on Dec. 14, the deputy saw the same man texting and diving on County Road 393. He pulled the man over and the man still did not have a valid U.S. driver’s license.

The 22-year-old man was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with no valid license and transported to the Walton County Jail.
