SANTA ROSA BEACH — A 41-year-old woman was arrested after trying to break into her ex-husband’s home while he was with their daughters, and demanding her daughter’s computer.

According to an arrest report from the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, on Jan. 4 a man and his daughters were eating and playing a game of Go Fish when his ex-wife began knocking on the door and demanding to be let in to the home. The man told her to leave, but she insisted she be given the couple’s daughter’s computer.

The man said the woman then attempted to enter the home with a key she had been given for emergencies while the man was out of town. The man placed himself on the threshold of the doorway in an attempt to block the woman from entering the home and continued to tell her to leave. The woman was able to force herself against her ex-husband and into the home, where she “fell on the floor.”

The man then pulled the woman out of the home and locked the door. She dropped her knitted hat while inside the house.

During an interview with the woman, she told authorities she had gone to her ex-husband’s home but denied gaining entry to it. She also said he “just threw her to the ground.” But the couple’s daughters told police they specifically heard their dad telling their mom she needed to leave, and the woman was arrested and charged with battery.
