DeFUNIAK SPRINGS — Police arrested two men Friday and seized more than $3,000 worth of marijuana.
Jonathan Wayne Morris, 35, of Santa Rosa Beach, and David Matthew Rollins, 35, of Napoleonville, Louisiana, were arrested after officers were called to Coy Burgess Loop and U.S. Highway 331 South about a suspicious vehicle, according to a news release from the DeFuniak Springs Police Department.
When officers arrived they discovered Morris and Rollins smoking marijuana in the vehicle, according to the press release. One the occupants admitted to using marijuana and presented a small container of extract, or “butter.”
When officers searched the vehicle they found several vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana buds that weighed 355 grams and more than $500 in cash. Hypodermic needles also were discovered.
Morris admitted the drugs were his, police reported. However, Rollins's passport was found inside a backpack with the drugs.
Rollins was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana. Morris was charged with possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana.
They were booked into the Walton County Jail.
