DEFUNIAK SPRINGS — A 17-year-old is in critical condition after crashing her ATV Saturday afternoon.

According to a press release from Florida Highway Patrol, around 4 p.m. Saturday, Brianna Mason of DeFuniak Springs was driving her 2002 Honda 400 EX on the grass shoulder of Windflower Street with her passenger, 15-year-old Meranda Haynes of Andalusia, Alabama.

Mason began to travel down hill and across Windflower Street as the road began to curve right, the report said. Mason then traveled off the roadway and went into a dirt embankment. The front of the ATV struck a fence and overturned.
