Journey To The Cross

Journey To The Cross & Upper Room Communion Experience, a self-guided walk through Christ's last day on Earth, will be presented by Destin United Methodist Church from 12-8 p.m. March 29 and 30 at 200 Beach Drive. Event is free.

The Upper Room Communion Experience is an opportunity to see what it might have been like the night Jesus shared communion with his disciples. Sign up for communion times through EventBrite, at 837-2021, at the church, or visit www.destinumc.org.

Resurrection Run/Kids Fun Run

The annual Village Resurrection Run, 8-11 a.m. April 14, draws Emerald Coast communities together for a day of fun and friendly competition to benefit many of Village’s missions and ministries. Participants assemble at the Village start-line and head to the Crab Trap and back for the Walk/Run 5K, while the 10K Run continues further down the beach to Pompano Joe’s and back. The 10K begins at 8 a.m. and cost is $30. The 5K Walk immediately follows and cost is $10.

Special awards are presented for Male and Female Overall, Masters, and Grand Masters winners in each age group. This year there is a new Kids Fun Run for children K-5th grade beginning at 9:15 a.m. and cost is $10. Call 837-107 for more information.

Easter Mass Schedule

St. Rita Parish, 137 Moll Drive in Santa Rosa Beach, will host Easter Mass services at:

• March 29, Holy Thursday, 7 p.m.

• March 30, Good Friday Stations of the Cross, 2:30 p.m. and Good Friday mass, 7 p.m.

• Divine Mercy Chaplet, 3 p.m. and Veneration of The Cross, 3:30 p.m.

Good Friday service

Without Good Friday, Easter doesn’t exist. We need Good Friday.

Join Hope Lutheran Church on the beach to experience Good Friday at Ed Walline Beach, the corner of 393 and 30A, at 4:30 p.m. March 30. In inclement weather, this worship service will be held at the main U.S. Highway 98 campus.

Everyone is welcome to attend as we commemorate the crucifixion and the death of Jesus Christ. Come and check out this new service from a blanket, beach chair or the boardwalk.
