PANAMA CITY - Police are looking for any witnesses who can help straighten out what happened inside and outside a 15th Street bar Saturday night that included a gunshot fired inside, fireworks set off outside and a Georgia man with a cut from a bullet that grazed his head.
Panama City police Sunday reported that around 11:05 p.m.m Saturday they were called to a report of a shooting at Reminisce night club, 1200 W. 15th St. When officers arrived, the found Dorian Mendoza, 18, from Georgia, “with a laceration to the back of his head which didn’t initially appear to be caused from a gunshot. Mendoza was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”
There were also reports of several altercations in the parking lot, as well as fireworks being set off outside, police said.
Police determined there also was a physical altercation inside the club, “followed by one gun shot and then the patrons ran out into the parking lot. It is believed that fireworks were then set off in the parking lot. It is unknown if these incidents were connected or involved the same individuals,” the report stated.
The evidence did match statements that at least one shot had been fired inside the club and that Mendoza was grazed by a bullet.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Panama City Police Department, 850-872-3100, or they can report their tips anonymously to CrimeStoppers 850-785-TIPS.
