Blue Title owner Warren Beason has executed a plan to enhance his clients' closing experience.
Beason has teamed up with South Walton artist Lori Drew to share space as a title company and art gallery all in one.
"We are two businesses complimenting and co-existing with each other," said Beason. "This will give area artists more exposure and enhance the closing experience for clients. It seemed like a good idea. We realized our real estate clients appreciate high-end art and we have had an award-winning artist on our staff for years."
In anticipation of adding the gallery, Beason renovated the space and added proper lighting and a hanging system.
Drew asked for submissions from her fellow artist friends and received 166 pieces. She selected 28 for the first rotation and hung them last week.
"I wanted to include everyone I possibly could, but I had to narrow it down and chose the ones I thought I could sell," said Drew.
The end result is a variety of styles and price points.
The selection on the wall will rotate every 90 days and as needed.
This first selection is themed "Artist Favorites."
"I was trying to get art that has a lot of meaning," said Drew. "It's nice to talk to artists about their favorite pieces and then I can tell buyers about the pieces and what they meant to the artist."
Drew has worked full time as an artist for seven years. She was the 2017 South Walton Mixed Media Artist of the Year. She has lived in the area since 2000 and this is her first gallery, although she has organized pop-up galleries for several years to try to help area artists get more exposure.
"I am interested in putting artists together," she said. "I had the background in pop-up galleries and Warren had the idea to utilize the space. He will be utilizing the space in a whole new way. People closing on their property will need art for their new home."
"I have known Lori for years and the gallery was birthed out of our relationship," said Beason.
Drew's work is included in this exhibit.
"The gallery is designed to connect locals and visitors with incredible art," Drew said. "We're excited about the partnership with Blue Title and the opportunity it provides artists to showcase their passion and talent. We have had a lot of other artists contact us wanting to exhibit."
"Enhancing Blue Title's closing experience was one of our primary goals," Beason added.
