DeFUNIAK SPRINGS — The Walton County Sheriff’s Office VICE/Narcotics unit has arrested two men after discovering they had about 1 1/2 ounces of crack cocaine, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff's investigators identified Kadeem Kenneth Ingram, 28, standing in a yard on Bay Street just before 5 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators were aware that Ingram had two outstanding arrest warrants, a news release from the Sheriff's Office said.
Ingram then got into the driver's seat of a vehicle while Alexander Bernard Smith, 29, was in the passenger seat, the release said.
When investigators approached the vehicle, they saw Ingram begin to shove what appeared to be bags of cocaine in the center console while Smith was seen putting items in the pocket of the passenger side door, according to the release.
Ingram was arrested on his two warrants. Investigators searched the vehicle and found plastic bags containing cocaine, marijuana and a digital scale. According to the release, $2,637 also was seized.
Ingram and Smith were arrested and charged with cocaine trafficking and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
