SEAGROVE — The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of $12,600 worth of equipment in Seagrove.

On July 4, the Sheriff’s Office responded to Seagrove Center Storage located at 4935 E. County Highway 30A and discovered that beach chairs, beach umbrellas, surfboards, paddleboards and paddles had been stolen from a local businesses storage unit, according to a news release.

The beach chairs and beach umbrellas are blue and brown with the logo “Dillon’s Beach Services 850-259-5849” displayed on them. According to video surveillance from a nearby business, a Penske rental truck pulled into the storage center parking lot at 10 p.m. on the night of July 3 and left the parking lot about 20 minutes later.

The rental truck hit the side of the storage unit building during the burglary, causing possible damage to the passenger side of the vehicle, the release said.
