The Young Professionals of Walton County (YPWC) will host a wine education and tasting event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at NEAT, a thoughtfully curated bottle shop and tasting room in Alys Beach.

“Wine Wise,” this month’s YPWC networking event, will give attendees the unique opportunity to learn the differences between each bottle being sampled, how to properly hold a wine glass, ideal food pairings and more. In addition to the educational aspect, “Wine Wise” will include small bites provided by NEAT and entertainment provided by Chris Alvarado.

Those who attend will have a chance to win a wine-themed raffle basket courtesy of Krueger, Fosdyck, & Associates of Merrill Lynch.

The two-hour event will be led by Cory Fosdyck, senior vice-president/senior resident director at Krueger, Fosdyck, & Associates of Merrill Lynch. The founder of the Young Professionals of Walton County’s former namesake, YP @ the Beach, Fosdyck served as the chairman for the group’s first two years in existence. Fosdyck is currently the chairman of Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation and has completed curriculum for the French Wine Scholar Certification, the equivalent to a Level II Sommelier.

Cost to attend is $10 for YPWC members and $15 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased at ypwaltoncounty.com. Early registration is encouraged as space is limited.
