1. Tribute Dinner/Fundraiser

To honor the life of Mike Mosley, the late lead singer and drummer for the Fish House Band, a tribute diner and fundraiser will be held from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at 33 Heron’s Watch Way in Santa Rosa Beach. All proceeds will benefit Mosley’s family. There will be a buffet and an open bar of select liquors while supplies last. Live music will be performed in honor of Mosley with musicians Zack Rosicka, Sol Morgan, The Wildlife Specials, and Qwerty. Tickets are $35 at door and all proceeds will benefit the Mosely family. 2. FunPoker Run

The fifth annual FunPoker Run to benefit Children in Crisis will be held at 9 a.m. Sept. 8. Stops include Lulu's, Giovanni's One89, The Gulf, LJ Schooners, Island Time, Two Georges Marina, and AJs on the Bayou. The prize for the best poker hand is a trip for two to Hawaii. All proceeds will benefit Children in Crisis. Pre-registration parties are at LuLu’s (Destin) and Giovanni’s One89 from 6-8 p.m. Sept. 7 or register at Lulu’s at 8 a.m. Sept. 8.

3. Beach Cleanup

Topsail Hill Preserve State Park will hold a beach cleanup on International Coastal Cleanup Day from 9:15-11:30 a.m. Sept. 15. Help keep the beach safe for the threatened and endangered species that call the beach home. To register as a volunteer, call 267-8330 and provide your name, email address, phone number and number of people coming. Volunteer check in is at Tram Stop No. 3. Volunteers need to bring hat, sunscreen and water bottle and dress appropriately for the weather. Gloves, trash bags and buckets will be provided.
