LYNN HAVEN — The Bay County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Mosley High School student after an alleged sexual assault on campus Thursday.

Michael Gavin Degrazia, 17, has been charged with sexual battery and taken to the Bay County Jail.

According to BCSO, the assault occurred during school in the boys locker room while the victim and Degrazia skipped class. A friend of the victim came forward and reported it to the School Resource Deputy on Friday, who began an investigation.

Based on alleged admissions by Degrazia, physical evidence and witness statements, Degrazia was arrested.

Principal Brian Bullock said the safety of all students is his number one priority and thanked BCSO for the “swiftness” with which they addressed the complaint.

“We will continue to cooperate with the BCSO as needed but, due to privacy concerns for the victim and the nature of the investigation, we will not be commenting further other than to reassure our parents that student safety and supervision remains our focus,” Bullock said in a statement.
