30A to be rerouted as Oyster Lake bridge is replaced

Walton County announced that a portion of CR 30A will be closed beginning at 8 a.m. Nov. 18 for construction to begin on planned improvements being made to the Oyster Lake Bridge and Outfall.

Once construction begins, detour signs will be placed rerouting traffic around Allen Loop.

The goal is to bring the area back to its natural state. An entirely new bridge will be built, said county public information manager Louis E. Svehla, with one lane going each way.

The road will remain closed until further notice as there is no firm completion date, but crews aim to have the project wrapped up by March 2014.
