723 Whiskey Bravo, a Gulf view restaurant and rooftop bar along Scenic Highway 30A, has announced a culinary collaboration with George Barnes. Barnes has joined the executive staff as director of operations of 723 Whiskey Bravo and will officially begin duties Feb. 15.

Barnes is well known in the South Walton community with locals and tourists alike, as the chef and owner of the former Smiling Fish Café, which recently closed its doors after 13 years of success.

Skip and Victoria Moore, owners of 723 Whiskey Bravo, said "We welcome George's experience, particularly on 30A, and specifically with the Smiling Fish Cafe. We know that George's longtime friends and guests will recognize his influence on our menu and overall dining experience."

Barnes, who is recognized for his New Orleans-Gulf Coast inspired fresh and flavorful dishes and Southern hospitality, is looking forward to working with the Moore’s to collaboratively achieve 723 Whiskey Bravo’s maximum potential.

“I am excited that I will be able to continue to build on relationships that I have fostered in our community for the past 20 years,” Barnes said.

About the collaboration, the Moores said, “On rare occasions, an opportunity presents itself for people with common goals and a shared vision to create a truly great result. Such an opportunity is now a reality in combining a well known and respected 30A restaurateur, with a new and vibrant venue such as 723 Whiskey Bravo."
