‘A great escape’: Seeing Red Wine Festival in its 22nd year of educating, entertaining wine lovers

Kevin Moran, CRUSH managing partner and “an incredibly knowledgeable wine enthusiast,” will present the seminar.

Seaside will change into a wine haven Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m., with more than 50 wine booths sprinkled throughout the idyllic town for the celebrated Grand Tasting event.

The whole of Central Square, Ruskin Place, and south of 30A will become a Utopia for wine lovers with an extensive offering of diverse, high-quality wines. Additionally, winery representatives will be on hand to give guests insight into what they are enjoying.

“The Grand Tasting offers much more than a wine tasting experience; it’s also an opportunity for education as well,” said Shiland, saying guests will receive a lesson in each individual wine, more than “It’s a red or a white,” directly from the source.

Though the fest is called “Seeing Red,” and features a myriad of red varieties, the Seaside festival will also have extensive offerings of white and sparkling wines.

“You can be a wine aficionado, or you can really be a novice,” said Shiland. “This gives people the ability to be exposed to … wines from around the world.”

To accompany the wine, a culinary pavilion will be set up with cheese, meat, bread, pasta and chocolate.
