An INNside scoop: Plans approved for 'most environmentally-friendly hotel'

The Inn on the Gulf will feature rentals that will have an edgy aesthetic, Humphreys said. He was inspired by resorts in Miami .

The lodging will be fashionable and functional as all rooms will feature a kitchen — an important aspect that sets apart The Inn, Humphreys said.

"When people come and stay here for a week, they don't want to eat out for every single meal," Humphreys said.

Even if you don't cook, the resort will feature a restaurant and is in close proximity to great South Walton dining options.

The Inn will also feature several pools, including a kid's pool, rooftop deck and bars.

In addition to its amenities, Humphreys says the resort is on its way to being the "greenest, most environmentally-friendly hotel in the Panhandle." Some of the green ideas include plug-ins for electric cars, solar panels and even two electric cars on site to be used for valet service.

The target demographic for The Inn is pretty much everyone, Humphreys noted, adding that families, couples, young or old will appreciate the beauty and convenience of the resort.
