If you want to start your morning off with something special, look no further than Grayt Coffee House. Located in the beautiful Grayt Grounds of Monet Monet, this family-owned and operated coffee shop offers hugs and fellowship along with a grayt cup of coffee.
“When you come in here, you become part of the family,” said Cheri Peebles, owner of Grayt Coffee House. “If you’re here, you’re going to get a hug. It’s just how we operate — we’re one big family.”
And the Grayt family is truly passionate about their coffee — offering locally-roasted, Fair Trade organic coffee.
“Coffee isn’t just coffee — it’s important stuff,” Cheri said. “Getting your coffee fresh is awesome. I get it one day after its roasted. There’s nothing better. And our customers can taste the difference.”
Cheri said she loves surrounding herself with people, and the coffee-drinking ones are her “ministry.” Opening the small coffee shop was a way to share that love with locals and visitors alike — in a “very eclectic, quirky little spot.”
“Grayt Grounds is the perfect place for our coffee house,” she said. “You can come in, grab a cup of coffee and walk around the gardens. We even offer breakfast items and pastries, all made in-house.”
Grayt Coffee House also cares about supporting the local community. Each month the shop features a local artist, displaying the artwork all throughout the gardens. And you can join them in their “listening living room” to enjoy sounds from local musicians.
“Everything we do, we try to touch another person,” Cheri said. “We love supporting our locals because they support us too. I’ve been in the area for many years and have watched families grow up — we become part of their family as well. ”
And when Cheri isn’t brewing up delicious cups of fresh coffee, she’s busy with her catering business, Grayton Beach Catering. It’s all part of her motto, “grayt food, grayt fun, grayt coffee and big hugs.”
