FREEPORT — A 45-year-old man was hit by a sports utility vehicle Sunday while on his way to the grocery store.

Brandy N. Starnes, 24, of Panama City was traveling westbound on State Road 20 near Joe Dugger Road around 9:30 a.m. Sunday when she hit a bicyclist traveling on the right side of the road, said a Florida Highway Patrol press release.

Tracy C. Culberton of Ponce De Leon was riding his bicycle on his way to the grocery store, according to Freeport Fire Chief Ben Greenslait.

Culberton was ejected off his 2007 road bicycle and was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in South Walton with minor injuries, the report said.
