A body was located around 10 a.m. today, off Woodland Bayou Drive in Santa Rosa Beach, which is believed to be that of missing person Jonathan Douglas Hensley, 47, of Turtle Creek Drive.

Deputies from the Walton County Sheriff's Department and Investigators have been actively searching for Hensley since he was reported missing by a family member June 3. The family member stated Hensley had not been seen since May 31.

The WCSO used foot patrol, ATV’s and the aviation unit to aide in the search.  A 9mm weapon was found at the scene near the body and was placed in evidence. The weapon is believed to be used by Hensley himself.  The body is now in possession of the medical examiner and the WCSO is currently awaiting confirmation of the identity.

On May 29, the WCSO assisted in a joint investigation with the Department of Homeland Security and executed a search warrant at the home of Hensley.  He was arrested for possession of more than 30 counts for images of children engaged in sexual acts.  In addition, more than 2,000 images of children engaged in sexual acts were found on a computer, which was in Hensley’s possession.
