Boy struck by vehicle in stable condition

A 12-year-old boy who was hit by an SUV  while riding his bicycle Monday afternoon is in stable condtion, according to Ryan Crawford of the South Walton Fire District.

The boy, who was riding in the Eastern Lake area was initially put under trauma alert and sent to Sacred Heart Hospital Emerald Coast. He was later  transported to Sacred Heart in Pensacola after he was stabalized.

Crawford said the boy did not appear to be wearing a helmet and may have struck the side of the vehicle.

um yeah those darn kids hitting cars seems to be an epidemic in that area. children and pedestrians hitting valuable SUVs if this was an area where people cared. theyd address the pedestrian and bike situation instead of continuing to maim and kill people
