"We are a non-profit 501(c3) environmental education center," said Bray. "Any support gained through our 1st Saturday of the month public programming goes to continuing our mission and helps to provide students with a deeper appreciation for the natural world and teaches them how to better protect it for future generations."

Leaving the Biophilia Center on Saturday, or any day for that matter, educators such as Bray hope to instill a sense of responsibility to nature in visitors.

"We hope to foster a better appreciation and relationship between humans and the natural world while serving as a reminder of the importance of keeping our planet healthy and clean," she said.
